For many of us hot water costs between one third and half of our heating bill so making sure your tank and pipes are well insulated is worth while.

Fitting a hot water cylinder jacket from a DIY store will allow your hot water to stay warmer for longer, and this in turn will save you money.

If your tanks' insulation is less than 75mm thick, then you could save even more money by adding another jacket or replacing it with a thicker one.

Try to insulate hot water pipes where possible, especially the ones between the boiler and the water cylinder.
